This exquisitely detailed scale architectural model of the ancient Roman temple Maison Carrée offers a high-fidelity representation of one of the most influential and best-preserved examples of classical Roman architecture. Located in southern France, Maison Carrée was constructed in the early 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Augustus and dedicated to his adopted heirs, Gaius and Lucius Caesar.

Recognised as a canonical model of High Imperial Roman temple design, the original monument is defined by its deep portico, Corinthian columns, balanced proportions, and refined entablature. Its remarkable survival has made it a foundational reference for architects, historians, and neoclassical designers for over two centuries.

This model is produced as a scholarly architectural replica, not a decorative abstraction. The weathered stonework is carefully rendered, capturing softened edges, erosion, and surface ageing consistent with the temple’s limestone fabric.
